Instructions:

Open MapEditor and copy (Ctrl+C) any object. Choose your Map Editor version (WOG, SOD, AB, ROE) in Object Editor and press 'Paste' button.

Here we go.
1) The first group box is "Appearance". You can enter the name of a .def file from a .lod archive into the "Picture" field or copy picture of another object, using additional "Copy" and "Paste". You can also choose a picture of some Type (and Subtype) of objects.
2) There is a checkbox "A part of ground". Objects with this flag are always placed under objects without it. For example, Holes and Kelp have this flag.
3) Than there goes "Properties" group box. There are again "Type" and "Subtype". They determine how the object works.
4) Than there goes a list of lands where the object can be placed.
5) Than there is a map of passability. It's similar to the one shown in Map Editor excepting the green squares. However, they seem to be useless.
6*) You can press "Useless" button and edit some useless properties. Although they are used internally by Map Editor, they are saved into the map file.

When it's done press "Copy" and press Ctrl+V in Map Editor.

Note:
1) Don't change the real type of objects. In many cases the game will crash. You should change "Appearance" instead.
2) When you change picture for a town, Map Editor still displays them as towns. The game sometimes displays them correctly.
3) There is a file "Data\Objects.txt" with a list of objects and their pictures. It was taken from H3bitmap.lod of Heroes 3 WOG 3.58 (it was called "ZEOBJCTS.TXT" or "ZOBJCTS.TXT" there) and cleaned to be smaller. If you install a new version of the game, you can refresh this file. In "Data\Objects1.txt" there are some interesting objects added by me. By the way, you can create Objects2.txt, Objects3.txt...
